Developing Future Football StarsMac5Sports is proud to introduce the Head Start 5U Flag Football Tournament, a developmental program designed for children aged 5 and under to learn the fundamentals of football in a fun and supportive environment. Our goal is to unite young players, helping them develop essential football skills at their own pace.
Schedule Overview

Practices:

Before the Draft: 3 times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

After the Draft: 2 times per week (Wednesday, Friday)

Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Games:

Fridays: One game per team, starting at 6:00 PM
-
Sundays: Two games per team, starting at 9:00 AM
-
Game Duration: 45 minutes

Draft Process & Team Formation
-
All participating kids will be part of the draft.

Coaches will evenly distribute players, ensuring every team has a mix of advanced and younger kids.

The first pick for each coach will be an advanced player who has the potential to play quarterback, ensuring team balance.

The goal is for older, advanced players to lead by example and help teach younger teammates.

Our 5U developmental flag football program is designed to teach young athletes the fundamentals of football while having fun in a supportive environment. We focus on running, catching, defending, and scoring, ensuring every child develops the skills they need to succeed.

Phase 1: Teaching & Fundamentals

The first few weeks will focus on teaching kids the basics of football:

Coaches will rotate among groups to work on skills and observe players’ natural abilities.
Phase 2: Draft

After the teaching phase, a draft will be held to assign kids to teams.

Coaches will be assigned to one of 10 college-themed teams:

Phase 3: Team Practices

Once teams are set, coaches will work closely with their teams to:

10 teams with 10 players each will compete in scheduled games.

Games will be officiated, and coaches are encouraged to emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.
